    One column has "Y"s and "N"s, both in black type. Want to change "N"s to red.

    (Perhaps this belongs in the "Formulas" sub?")

    Issue is described in the title.

    No, it's not a formula you need. You need conditional formatting.

    Highlight the column > Conditional Formatting > Highlight Cell Rules > Equal To N

    Thanks for your response.

    I followed the first few steps you list thru "Highlight Cell Rules"

    " Equal To N" - ? I'm new to Conditional Formatting - could you please be more specific about that last step - what I do, and how it changes the N's to red.
    (If it matters, the column in question already has all the "Y"s and "N"s in it - it is complete. Now I just need to change the "N"s to red).
