    Question Conditional Formatting Excel 2016

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me please?

Is it possible to use conditioning to turn the ID (col A2) to bold red if F2 is not blank?

I've tried a few things and also tried to search online but I can't be entering the right question on web.

    Thank you in advance

    Clair :-)

yes, go to conditional formatting >> new rule >> use formula to determine which cells to format, type in =F2<>"" then select the format you want.

Thank you so much. That's worked thank you.

Can I add rules to that for instance when I have data back from other people in Purchasing, would I be able to turn the ID blue if Stephens row G2 isnot blank?

    This is cool :-)

    Thank you so much

    Re: Condintional Formatting Excel 2016

You can set a second (or more) conditional format by doing the same thing again, just this time you select new rule and you can still use the formula =G2<>"" then pick the fill tab and format the background color to the color of blue you want then hit ok, then apply. And you can move the order and/or click the box "stop if true" so one will override the other.

BTW, if you want to extend it to the row, then use the format painter but first edit the two formulas from =F2<>"" to =$F$2<>"" and =G2<>"" to =$G$2<>"" then use the format painter to drag it to the right.

    Re: Conditional Formatting Excel 2016

Hi me again, I am worried I am actually being a complete numpty.

What do I do to make it look at every row (in the same column $A2) to add formatting it F2 is not blank.

But how do I apply it to every row in the sheet? Please?

So using all of column Am if G2 is not blank made A2 red font, apply to every row? B3 red if G3 not blank and so forth there are nearly 500 rows in total.

Bit lost and I have tried searching and I'm not good with VBA

Then I will be able to add a 2nd rule, to look and see if Johns column is blank or not, 3rd James, Diane and Sue (Purchasing is team of 6) so I can compare my master sheet against each of the Purchasing teams lists?

    Thank you so much
