How can I test for significance here?

We sampled bug species on a few different dates. I want to see if they correlate; such as, if a high amount of species A correlated to a high amount of species B and vice versa. How do I do this exactly? Thanks!

Pearson correlation. =CORREL(array1,array2)
e.g. =CORREL(D1:D10,E1:E10)

I got a value of -.04, what does that mean? How do I know if it's significant?
