is a smaller code better or just looks better?

    is a smaller code better or just looks better?

    As im learning more about VBA I'm able to do the same things with smaller code. Is it better to make code smaller?

    Example: if i wanted button "loreta1" to color itself one color then color 19 other buttons a different one when pressed i used -

    but now I learned i can do it with a smaller code like this

    I like that i can do it in less coding steps but does it help the program to do it in less steps. I enjoy learning how to do things better but was just curious if it has positive effects on the program other than looks

    In-line code is always faster, but it's voluminous and difficult to maintain.
