Using Absolute Reference With Data From A Different Worksheet

How do I use an absolute reference when linking data from a different worksheet? For example when I enter =+'Electric 2018'!$C7/'Use per Tenant'!C$15 it doesn't work.

    Cross-posted

I have added the link because as a first-time posted you may not post links, but please remember this for future posts:

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum Rules: Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you must provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (most other forums have the same rule).

Since I don't participate at Mr. Excel, I will respond here. A sample file would likely help. Your question has little to do with the data in the spreadsheet, so I would recommend you upload a sample file. The data in the file can be entirely random, if you want, and still illustrate why your mixed reference is not working they way you expect. As the other responder mentions, it looks like the formula should work just fine and should copy just fine. A more detailed example of how it is not working will help us understand what is wrong.

Please explain what "doesn't work" means. Explain what you want this formula to do, and what it does instead.
