Excel to word scaling

Hi I have an excel document and a word document. They have the same size table in terms of rows and columns. What I'd like to do is copy the data from the excel table into the word table and scale the text to fit the boxes so that it doesn't change the size of the table in the word document. I cant seem to figure out how.

My 1st question would be - why bother at all? Why not just use the excel table?

I just puled an excel table into word using just copy/paste, and it came over ok-ish. I had to adjust the column widths a bit, that was all

Hi I use excel all the time but I need to send an editable copy to some people who are very computer illiterate and was hoping to send in via word. If I just copy and paste it’s pretty bug and difficult to get it to sit right with out going and resizing everything.
