Post Taking Excel data from online and documenting it in excel spreadsheet

Hi everyone, pretty new to excel but familiar with the basics I learnt in University.
I'm looking to build a model that records data from online sources (tables), and updates and saves them regularly and ongoing rather than just updating them regularly.
    an example being,
forexfactory.com/calendar.php <-- this website offers updated data on economic events.
I am having some problems doing this, in particular recording the data ongoing.
    Thanks
    Mitch

    Re: Hey

Welcome to the forum! Please take a moment to re-read forum rule #1 and then amend your thread title to something that better explains your problem. Changing your thread title is not optional, which means you must change it. Thanks!

    • Use concise, accurate thread titles.
    • Your post title should describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.
    • Use terms appropriate to a Google search - poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice tell us nothing.
    • Responding to a request to change your thread title by doing so is mandatory.

To change a title go to your first post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title.

No help to be offered, please, until the OP complies with this request.

    Hey MaRTrades,

I've been very interested in the same kind of thing.
In fact I've probably spend the last 2 years learning all about VBA and stuff to try and be able to do that kind of stuff (and more)

I'd recommend googling "wise owl tutorials"

I know that's not much of an answer, but it's pretty difficult thing to do. If someone gets a solution, I'd be super interested. in seeing how they did it.
    Thanks,

    JimmyWilliams

Thanks JimmyWilliams, I'll check that out.
My goal is to get the economic data, save it and post it to a line chart that updates regularly in order to monitor the economic data fluctuations in an excel workbook.
I'm familiar with building pretty basic data models, but not advanced enough to do this type of thing.
    Thanks for the help
