    Name "Noman" turning red

Hello. I am new to this site, but I can't seem to find a solution to this problem anywhere else. I have a spreadsheet that I record names in for record keeping. The name column is set to General format. I need to add someone's surname that is actually "Noman" and every time I type it or change the font color, it automatically turns to a bold type red font. I did find out that the name is Arabic and part of its meaning is "red" so I'm thinking the name Noman is a command of some sort. As entertaining as this is, I really need to get this spreadsheet to display properly. Can someone tell me how to enter the name so that it appears in the same font as everything else on the sheet?

And for fun...what other names might I run into problems with?? Is blue or purple a name/command in Arabic???

    Thanks for any suggestions!

That's weird! Is there any conditional formatting in that particular cell/column that dictates, say, words starting with "N" are bold red font or something to that effect?

    .
Unusual .. it doesn't occur here. Must be a formatting issue that is overlooked.

To add some levity to the situation ... "Norman" hearkens back to the movie Bates Motel ... so perhaps the reason the name is turning red is .... well you know.

Then again perhaps your computer is simply possessed ?

Or it could go back even further, Logit, to when the Normans and Saxon where fighting on old Britain.

trillian001, and chance of seeing that file?
