Question Prevent Excel sheet being emailed if incomplete

Hi does anyone know if there is a straightforward way of preventing an excel sheet being emailed whilst a validation formula on the sheet says its incomplete? Basically I have a form that was previously completed in the most imaginative of fashions if I did not use validated answers in drop down menus. However, a couple of my colleagues have a habit of never fully completing the form and ignoring the big red letters that say "Number of incomplete sections: X". So rather than me having to keep sending it back and repeating myself can I do something to the file to stop it being sent unless the count I have in "Number of incomplete sections" shows zero? Your help as always greatly appreciated.

    Hi there,

I presume you're using VBA as you've mentioned "form".

What you might do is to set all mandatory fields first, so they are not able to save if all mand. fields are not completed.

If indeed you're using VBA, type this statement to all mandatory fields:

    Hope it helps

Actually I'm not using VBA on this one, all the validation etc is done by functions, mainly because I am useless at VBA. So presumably VBA is the only solution?

    Hi there,

VBA might not be the only solution but it could prevent useres to type wrong “data” or not filling mandatory or required fields.

For what I know of not using VBA is that you can control what users type but you can’t control what they don’t but again, I am not 100% sure if that’s possible without the use of VBA.

Maybe some other member here has some other opinion or technics for what ypu’re looking for.

    Best regards,
    Filipe

    Hi there again,

If no response solve what you want, I can try and help you to build a file based on VBA but I would need to see the Excel file itself if you could attach to this thread.

Also I would need to know the mandatory fields and in case of drop-down menu, I need to know the opions that users can choose from.

    Beat regards,
    Filipe
