insert changeable date for a lookup to different worksheet

Hi guys/gals - hoping you can point me in the right direction on this one.

Overview - collating a master timesheet to read staff hours worked (all staff have their own worksheet)

Lookup formula
='[Gordo.xls]3-8-2018'!$B$3

{Worksheet; Date; Cell of total hours worked}

I am trying to write a formula to have the 'Date' part of the formula changeable, yet still being able to use the lookup

But the concatenated cells wont return the lookup of the other worksheet.

Any suggestions or pointers to get the concatenated return value to read the workbook again??

Missing Indirect() function which redirects text value as reference.

But Indirect() wont work with closed workbooks.

Use Indirect.Ext() of MoreFunc Addin to work with closed workbook.
