Question Image no display: Mysteries of the unseen.

    Good morning all,

This is my 1st post, i'm a new user. If I've posted to the wrong place or misstep, please let me know.

I'm having an issue with an image (.png) I've inserted into excel (please see the attached).

The image displays and prints the default no display picture. When i select the image with a left click and begin to rotate it, an ethereal manifestation of what the image should be is displayed.
The same effect is seen when selecting the image with a left click and holding the right mouse button to drag the image.

Its as though excel remembers what the image should be but won't display it. What's wrong with the image? how do i get it to display properly?

    Thanks,

    Flapjack

Works fine for me, dragging, resizing, rotating, and printing. See if there's any updates for Office/Excel for you.

    Good morning mainemojo,

I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.
It is quite possible that an update may be the issue.
Unfortunately The IT department at the company I work for determines when i'm allowed updates
All my colleagues have the same problem with the .png, so it makes sense.

    Thanks again,

    Flapjack.

    Some ideas...
    1. Instead of trying to manipulate the image with the keyboard/mouse, did you try 'format picture' instead?
    2. Try converting the PNG to JPG, GIF or BMP and see if that works.
    3. Do you have the same problem with the same image in Excel?
    4. Do you have the same problem with another PNG (you can download one off the internet to try using Google)?

Bit of a punt, but can you try setting a different default printer? (e.g. try the XPS printer).
