    File>Open>make Browse the default

When I'm opening a large number of files, it would be really nice if instead of having to click 'Browse' after clicking File>Open, that the folder that last opened when I last clicked Browse would automatically open, skipping having to choose between several very 'high-level' folders that I never use and Browse. Is that possible to do?

    I'm using Office 365/Excel 2016.

After clicking File > Open, you obviously see a list of recently opened (and possibly pinned) files. At the top of the list you should see "Workbooks" and "Folders". If you click Folders, you should see your most recently used folders to pick from.

To the right of the folder name (when hovering over it) you should see the push-pin icon, so you can pin those folders near the top of the list at all times.

That's good to know about the push-pin - learned something there. Unfortunately doing that is one more click than I was doing before because I have to click 'folder' (it would be nice if that would stay the default after choosing it once) and then click the pinned folder. At least when I click Browse, it automatically opens the last folder I was in. I know, first world problem.

    Yeah, first world stuff, unfortunately.

The default "Browse" folder is actually configured in File > Options > Save > Default Local File Location (typically set to C:\Users\username\Documents). You can set that to your most common file location, but still probably can't do "last opened" type of setting.
