Summate Lap times in format mm:ss.fff

    Hey guys Alex here,

    I'd need your help.

I got some laptimes in the format mm:ss.fff (1:45.162) and I want to sum them up to calculate the medium.

I got them to show in the right format with using the custom format mm:ss.fff (mm:ss.000 didn't work - it didn't let me use this format).

    In B3 I have 1:45.162 in B4 1:47.973.
    =SUM(B4;B3) for B5 shows 00:00.fff

    B3 1:47.973
    B4 1:47.973
    B5 00:00.fff

    If I do: =B3+B4 for B5 I get #VALUE!

    B5 #VALUE

Your help would be very much appreciated.

    Best regards

    Alex

For me atleast, it works when i change the custom formatting to:

mm:ss,000 (note the Comma instead of the dot)

This way Excel actually see the number as a value it can calculate with.
