I work as a product developer/designer and it's not uncommon for me to have 10-15 open projects at a time that are waiting on other people/processes. I have found that because I don't have a good system of tracking these projects statuses and that they are falling out of focus and sometimes forgotten about for a few weeks. I'm hoping one of you could recommend something to help me with this.
Currently I have an excel sheet with columns: Project, Status, Progress and a few others that I don't believe to be important to what I'm trying to achieve. Status is simply just a # that I use to organize EVERY project I've worked on based on where they are at (Current Priority, Waiting for Approval, Testing, Completed, etc.). Progress is where I write a little note as to what the detailed status of the project is.
Here is what I'm looking for (unless someone has a better idea suited for this). If I have this in my progress cell:
Could I somehow archive this to another sheet? Possibly every time I add an entry to that cell it copies to another sheet so when I change it has archived every cell entry elsewhere? Or maybe just have only the first dated entry show up in the cell? My issue is that I'm using the Status column to organize all of the projects and their respective columns in this sheet so things are constantly moving up and down. This is why in my head it seems the solution is to keep it all within this cell, as the Row# of each project is changing as things progress.
