Hello
I'm looking to use powerpivot to save some space for a large file. I used formulas for this before but after a large data set my files started to slow down.
I had a table which displayed the first date that I had a record for a person, then I would add one day onto the start date for each individual and had a lookup formula to find the value for the data and person, as I need a 0 to be put in the value if there is no match for that data and person, so the table would look like this;
Start Date Name Values
01/01/18 Person 1
10/01/18 Person 2
02/01/18 Person 3
02/01/18 Person 1
11/01/18 Person 2
03/01/18 Person 3
This continues for a whole year for 50 people and I have rolling standard deviations etc. going off to the side also, so the file slows down.
Powerpivot has been much quicker to summarize the data without the lookup formula and adding a date onto the previous date when the names match etc. However I was wondering if it's possible to sort a powerpivot table by date, but in the way displayed above?
Any help greatly appreciated
