Alter a formula from a certain cell reference to cell on the left.

    Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to change the following formula:

Instead of the cell being D243, is it possible to have it so it looks at the cell to the left?

    Thanks

without seeing your workbook i can only speculate.
Yes you can change D243 to C243, will it work correctly, i dont know.

If you want to do this i would suggest selecting the cell.
Then go to Home Ribbon and Select Find and then select Replace (or press ctrl h)
type in D243 in the "Find what" tab
Type C243 in the "Replace with"
    select Replace

If you wanted a more complicated formula where you keep the D243 reference but you want it still to get one cell to the left you can add an offset formula which i provided below..

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Thank you for your reply.

now i am confused, are you looking for help with the question on the other site? or are you still looking for a way to reference the cell to the left with the original formula you gave? Did either of the two options i listed in post #2 help at all?

They are both supposed to be the same but now I can see I haven't explained it very well on here.
I was in a rush at work, sorry.
