Excel stops updating screen / non- responsive

Hi,

I've tried googling the problem but I haven't been able to find anything - Not sure if I a memory (RAM) issue? I have 16GB so I don't think it is....

When I am scrolling through any excel file with large amounts of rows it will stop responding - it will scroll but show a blank area where my data is meant to be. I can still scroll up and down but it only shows the rows that were present when it stops responding. The mouse still works e.g. when placing over the cells it still shows the actions like move, the blinking typing line etc but when I click nothing happens. Its like excel is still working but the screen is not updating or being responsive. This is just a regular excel with no VBAs with screenupdating disabled etc... To fix the problem I have to close the file (still gives me the option to save etc) and reopen it.

Do you experience this anomaly on all workbooks .. or only one ?

On all workbooks that have a large set of data... makes me think its an hardware issue? But i am running an i7 8550u 16GB ram...I've also tried reinstalling Office.

I've had workbooks, only a few, as large as a few Mb that were not affected in any manner. Took awhile for them to load but ...

Mine are range from 20mb to 100mb. This issue is only on this laptop. All other computers access the file work fine. :S Not sure if its a performance restriction on battery or something. Just wondering if anyone is experiencing the same or similar problem.

That was going to be my next question ... how does the workbook run on other machines. You've isolated the issue ... the laptop. However, I'm not certain of the answer to correct it. If
the hardware acceleration is the problem .. hopefully you can clear that up easily. Obviously the issue is not your workbook.
