Applying price changes from vendor Excel file to other spreadsheets

Can someone here guide me on how to do something? I have vendors that send price changes in an Excel format. It includes their part number and the new cost. I want to apply that new cost to my QuickBooks data. Now I export a Excel item list spreadsheet with that particular vendors data and go back and forth between the two spreadsheets getting the new cost and typing it in on the QuickBooks file. I want to be able to import the new cost into my QuickBooks Excel file by matching up the manufacturers part number with the new cost. How can I do that? Is there a software program I can buy to do this or is the function available in excel.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Assuming that you are trying to match something across two Excel workbooks, it sounds like you can use VLOOKUP or INDEX MATCH (which I prefer).

If you would like some more personalized help, I recommend uploading a small representative sample of your data along with the desired results (which you can enter manually) based on that data.

To upload an Excel workbook, follow these steps:
    1) Click on "Go Advanced"
    2) Click on "Manage Attachments"
    3) Click on "Choose File"
    4) Choose your file and click on "Open"
    5) Click on "Upload"
    6) Click on "Close this window"

It sounds like all you need to do is use a Vlookup () function to look up the part number from your QB export to the New vendor price workbook so that it grabs the new price. Then import the newly changed vendor prices into QB

Thanks so much for the tips! I'll give that a try.
