We have various excel workbooks that use AutoCAD to open drawings depending on options selected in the workbook. Recently the company upgraded to AutoCAD 2017 from 2013 and so we've updated the references in VBA to allow the workbook to continue to work with AutoCAD.

The workbook opens AutoCAD successfully but a reoccurring message appears that Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action, even though AutoCAD has finished opening and is usable. The only suggestions I've found online is to go into Excels advanced options and check "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)" which hasn't fixed the issue.

Are there any other ways to fix this?
