Formulae between workbooks - results not showing

Hi,

Bit of an odd one that I've never noticed before.
I have various formulae, in this case maxif and sumif, pulling information in from another data workbook, but they only appear when this workbook is open.
When the workbook is opened links are enable and values are updated which, if the data workbook isn't open, results in previous values disappearing.
I've links between the same workbooks using vlookup that are fine.
I've tried lots of settings, but nothing seems to solve the issue.
What am I missing?

Like SUMPRODUCT, VLOOKUP works between closed wbks. https://contexturesblog.com/archives...ther-workbook/
Other functions do not. Check their syntax
