Building Master Sheet that feeds into Passive sheets that maintain and update.

Hi all,

I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong thread or already exists. I have been tasked with a job that fairly open with very specific key items, any help would be highly appreciated.

I am attempting to build a spreadsheet that is multipurpose. The desired result is to create a (everyone friendly) Master Sheet that anyone can put information that feeds into other more focused/passive sheets.

The area that keeps stumping me is that the Master Sheet needs to be able to be updated almost daily, while the previous information remains in the focused/passive sheets and can continue to be updated.

I am open to any solutions and suggestions. I unfortunately cannot, for legal reasons, attach my current worksheet. If it would help I will figure out a way to attach the sheet or at least screen shots.

Short Version: Master Sheet needs to be an active sheet that feeds into Focused/Passive Sheets that maintain data and are updated as Master Sheet is.

Hi, welcome to the forum

1st and foremost, excel formulas work on a "pull" method, not a "push" method. Your Master sheet cannot "feed" info anywhere, but your "passive" sheets could very well pull info from the Master.
Depending on how you are pulling the data, it may be possible to keep the older data, and just add new data as it comes in.

I understand that you cannot upload your actual file, but could you upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.
