    Data Categorization using PowerQuery

    Hello,

I have a large list of 180 items and I want to categorize them in 5 broader categories for my data model in PowerQuery. I tried using conditional columns, but I dont want to specify 180 items (inputs) and their output category. Please help.

Have you tried creating a category column with the Column from Examples option?

Yes I have tried, but its same as using Conditional columns though its like auto generating it. Plus I want to create a rule since we will keep bringing new data every day and in one day we might be only working in 5 out of 180 postal codes.

    Postal Zone Desc
    T0K Lethbridge Region
    T1G Lethbridge Region
    T1H Lethbridge Region
    T1J Lethbridge Region
    T1K Lethbridge Region
    T1M Lethbridge Region
    T0L Mountain Region
    T1L Mountain Region
    T1S Mountain Region
    T1V Mountain Region
    T1W Mountain Region
    T0J Medicine Hat Region
    T1A Medicine Hat Region

Well, without a sample file and a clear explanation of what you want, I can’t really help any further.
