    How can I automatically pasting data?

    Hello, I was wondering whether it was possible to autocorrect pasted data in Excel?

    For example, I have spreadsheets covering a range of different football clubs but some are titled as, for example, Man Utd, Manchester United, Man U or what not.

    I’m looking to unify all the different names and was hoping to find a way where any pasted data would auto update the unified name, as opposed to manually updating each time?

    I’ve tried using the auto correct function and whilst this works when manually typing names into the cells, it would be much easier if Excel could automate the name update when pasted into the sheet.

    I’m far from an Excel expert and so apologies if this doesn’t make sense, or if there’s an easy fix. I work with almost 200 clubs and need to update data twice weekly so it’s quite a time-consuming task.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

    Are they the same kinds of corrections each time?

    IE: Every time you've to change Man Utd and Man U to Manchester United (or whatever).

    If so then you can record yourself working with Find and Replace as a Macro, then you'll simply need to save a copy of your Macro to use the next time.

    You may need to add the Developer Tab to make recording Macros easier, you can find information on how to do this here;

    Once you've recorded your Macro you may still run into a few problems trying to use it, if you do then if you post back on here with the code that you recorded then someone will be able to help you get it sorted
