Check Date in Cell is Date valid

Hi

Question? Is there a way if i have a validation to check the cell that I've entered in Cell A3 for example is correct date format and will pop up a message box that you have entered a wrong date format "MM/DD/YYYY"

For example:
in cell A3 i'vee entered a text DOG instead of date, It will prompted me to "please enter a correct date format -MM/DD/YYYY"

Hope someone here know how to code this on excel. Thanks!

Hi luisperez19,

Try using Data Validation on the cells you want to force the user to enter a date.

In the Data Ribbon > Data Tools > Data Validation.
Allow = Date
Data = Greater than
Start Date = 01/01/1900
Under the Error Alert tab, enter your error message.
