group both rows/columns so that they collapse/expand together with a single click?

Is this possible? Currently, I have a group of rows and a group of columns. I can collapse/expand one and then collapse/expand the other, but this requires two actions. Is there any way to accomplish both with a single action so that they are tied together?

Only with a Macro. Is that what you're looking for?

I was mainly wondering if there was native support in Excel to do this. I'm not opposed to trying a macro, but don't have any experience doing so yet. Any additional tips/direction/examples would be appreciated. Thanks for the reply.

How are you doing it currently? Select Columns > Hide, Select Rows > Hide ?

Can you give an example of what the groups consist of? Columns A:D and Rows 1:10 etc.

Ah, I know next to nothing about group and outline! So there may well be a way in it to do what you ask - I'm guessing not though.

In terms of a macro, if the structure of the sheet doesn't change in terms of variable content, and you can easily specify which rows and columns should be 'grouped' together, then it's very easy.
