Excel Chart or Pivot to use for daily varying data

Dear All,

How to plot a chart or generate a pivot for a data set, in which new data is added daily and there is change in state of data from previous day. E.g. A daily report is generated which contains list of requests, including new, in progress, exempted and resolved. To start with its easy to plot a chart or generate a pivot to see how many are in which status and know the grand total for that particular. However, when the report comes in the next day, it includes - new requests, change in state of report and obviously the total of open or resolved ticket till that day. So the value for day on day data varies and I am unsure on how to show in via a pivot or a chart. Request this forum to help with the below -

- Show data which show how many new requests have been added daily, the change in number of in progress, exempted and resolved on daily basis and the new grand total each day.
