stuck in "Now Saving Temporary File"

I've tried rebooting the PC, killing and restarting Excel multiple times, nothing works. When I open Excel, the WB opens, but my cursor still spins and I can't click into the sheet. The bar at the bottom says "Now Saving Temporary File". How do I get past that?
    I know I'm not stupid, but I suspect I'm a lot stupider than I think I am

Re: stuck in "Now Saving Temporary File"

Okay, tracked it down. It was in my PERSONAL.xlsb. I have a ton of macros in my Personal, plus in the WorkbookOpen event I open another workbook (MyLinks), then save a backup copy of both MyLinks and Personal. The "Now Saving Temporary File" was popping up during the saving of the backup of Personal, and I finally tracked that down to a Form (my "Hiding" form). Apparently there was some kind of corruption in that that was messing everything.

How I fixed it: Exported all Forms and Modules from PERSONAL.xlsb. Imported them into a new workbook. Copied code from ThisWorkbook module of Personal to the new workbook. Opened folder containing PERSONAL.xlsb. Closed Excel, deleted PERSONAL.xlsb, moved new workbook to same file location and renamed as PERSONAL.xlsb. Reopened Excel and life was once again good.
