Want to know which cells are using a particular Named-List for validation
Hi,
In an excel file I have created a named list by selecting a column and then going to Formulas>DefineName, and, named it MY_LIST.
Then I have used MY_LIST for validation (as drop-down list) in different cells in more than 1 tabs.
Now I want to know all the places (cells) where MY_LIST has been used.
Is there any way to find it out?
It will help immensely in my project.

Here's a suggestion.
The macro will put in yellow all cells (in all sheets) that match your criteri (ie. validation list with MY_LIST)

To find all the places on a single sheet where Validation is used, you can use the Home Tab > Editing Group > Find and Select dialog > Data Validation. This will select all cells that have data validation. Half of what you want? Also a tool called Power Utility Pack at http://spreadsheetpage.com/index.php/pupv7/home has a tool to list all the validation cells on a sheet (or all sheets) and makes a report.
