Question Some fields in currency format with zero value not showing blank.

Sometimes when I add a new line (not always), the simple formula will show the zero value ($0.00). Most of the cells work fine and the value shows as blank. What would cause this to happen?

I have gone to Excel Preferences and unselected the box 'show zero values'.

When I go into format cell and look there, the number tab and selecting 'currency', the sample field at the top shows $0.00. If I look at the format cell with the fields that are correctly showing a blank cell, the sample field at the top shows a blank field. How can I get that field to change for these few cells? Any help will be appreciated.

Select one of those cells....Press [F2][F9]
That will display the true value. I'm guessing you'll see trailing decimals (example: 0.000023) which means the value is NOT zero. If that's an issue you may need to either use the ROUND function of create a conditional format that catches values between .004 and -0.009 (or whatever works for you)

    Does that help?

It is not showing extra fields so round off is not necessary. I just want a blank field where there is a zero value. It is working on all the other fields but some fields are not working correctly. I am not sure what the issue is.

These are simple numbers of add and subtract. No trailing decimals.

Hello NINDY and Welcome to Excel Forum.
Could you upload a desensitized sample of your spreadsheet (not a picture or pasted copy) that demonstrates the issue by clicking on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick Reply window and then scrolling down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window?

If you see $0.00 then, as Ron said, the cell value is not actually 0, it's just very small. You should add rounding to the formula.
