Line Chart with Multiple Series

Hi,

I have a line chart that contains two series of data.

Data for the second series is only available for around half of the time that the chart covers and I have blank cells ("" in the formula that returns them) for these periods in the data on which the chart is based.

When I create the line chart the shorter series starts at 0 and is represented by a horizontal line until the date for which the first data point is available when it then spikes upward to that value.

Can someone please tell me how to change the chart so that the first data point plotted for the shorter series will be the first observation.

I recommend this essay which talks about how Excel charts handle empty cells, and the closest approach to simulating "empty" cells with formulas: https://peltiertech.com/mind-the-gap...g-empty-cells/ you will find that, for line charts, having your formula return NA() behaves more like an empty cell than null string "".
