    Import data problem

    Hi

When I import data from a CSV file the dot separator seems not to be counted.

So a number in CSV file is 630.0, but when imported it shows as 6300.
The same for decimal numbers - 0.9 will show as 9.

I have tried to change the setting in File --> Options --> Advanced --> Use system separtators marked and unmarked

    But this doesnt help.
Can anybody tell me if there is other settings that I need to check for solving this problem?
    Thanks

    Re: Import data problem

If you open the file with Notepad, does it show the periods (dot separators)?

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires

    Re: Import data problem

    Hi

    The periods appear in Notepad:

Snip of data that I want to import.

    300,380,Input,546,630.0,0.9,90 | 90,1 | 2,300 | 240,576 | 382

The commas are used as coloum separators, but the periods just seens to disappear.
    Everything else works just fine.

Language is set to English (United States) as default in Excel.
Anywhere else I can change something?

    Re: Import data problem

As Pepe has said, check your regional settings.
After having a quick look I see Danish decimal point by default is a comma and list separator is a semi-colon.
Try temporarily resetting these to suit the csv file.
