Excel 2016 - move the cell alongwith the row in a column added manually to a OLE DB table.

    Hi

I have a table in Excel 2016 that gets its data via OLE DB connection from a back end database.

I have manually added an extra column "Comments" into the table so that I can add my own comments in the local Excel file related to each row in the table.

However, when I refresh the connection it pulls in the latest data from the back end database as desired - but the comments added relevant to the rows do not move and stay back in the same cell where they were first inserted.

Is there a way to move the cell (with the comment) along with the row where its intended to be, as it can be confusing when it reflects against some other row?

    Thanks for any suggestions here.

May be you can use the primary key in the DB and link it with the comments. You can upload a reference sheet.

Thanks for the quick reply, Saqib. I understand this can be done using "vlookup" but would request to be more elaborate? I am a newbie. My query now extends to a few more columns added manually (please see attached).

Columns A:I are connected to DB and auto refresh moving up and down as per Status (Column I) and any manual entry in Columns L-BO do not move along with the relevant rows when refreshed. Is there a way to move these too in alignment with the rows?

I would say DV/RDSN column is unique for every project.
