Power query - website not responding

    Hi everyone

Trying to start a new query "from web" in excel for the following url

    https://www.masters.com/en_US/scores/feeds/scores.json

but it seems to be timing out but all seems ok when I access it on the web.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

The following code has worked in the past but it can't seem to connect to the website now and I don't have the knowledge to figure out what has changed!

    Thanks

    Define "in the past".

Is your user profile up-to-date (viz: version of Excel being used)?

    Hi Ali

It's a feed for a golf leaderboard that happens once per year so was working a year ago. The json setup looks looks identical but for some reason power query just can't seem to "get through" to the website and times all. All other methods of accessing the url seem to be working as they were last year. Excel is up-to-date and I'm using Excel 365 pro-plus version 1701 (7766.2099)

And your user profile? Are you really still using Excel 2003?

What settings are you using when the query tries to connect?

Sorry yeh, didn't answer that but have just updated my response now. Will update my user profile too!

What settings do you mean? It's via the data tab>other sources>from web then I enter the url. Usually connects to the site no problem before filtering what data I want to scrape

Re: Power query - website not responding

When I did that in 365, I got a dialog giving possible logon options. Did you use anonymous?

Please don't quote whole posts, especially when you are responding to the one immediately preceding your own - it's just clutter. It's OK to quote if you are responding to a post out of sequence, but limit quoted content to a few relevant lines that makes clear to whom and what you are responding. Thanks!

Sorry yeh, I tend to use anonymous but couldn't find any settings to work. Does it work for you?

No - I can't get it to do anything, either.

Re: Power query - website not responding

    Thanks for trying!

it's very odd. I can get it to import via the old "get external data" web query but that's a bit of a nightmare to get the data in a usable format. Power query is so much simpler but there just seems to be some sort of block from using it and I can't think of a way round it

If you download the JSON file, it seems you can access it via PQ.

Ok interesting. Would ideally have it updating automatically but this looks like the only way I can do it.

    Thanks for your help
