Reading and copying data from one Excel spreadsheet into another.

    Hi All,

Excel Spreadsheet Image attached (It won't let me upload the actual file for some reason)
EDIT: I've uploaded a different version of the Excel spreadsheet which is similar to the original.

Basically, what I need to do is create a new excel spreadsheet that will read and copy information from the attached spreadsheet onto the new one. In the attached sheet you will see a list for each day of the month (in the example I have only left Monday and Tuesday on there but Saturday and Sunday ARE included).

On each day of the month a series of registration numbers will be entered. The only information that I need to know is which vehicle registrations are being used on today's date. I don't know how to collect the information because of the format the sheet uses. I cannot make any changes to the sheet which I will be reading from because it is being used by another dept, so reformatting the original sheet to suit my needs is out of the question. I need to read the information into a new sheet in a clear and concise format which can be read by my BI software. It should simply show today's date being read from the attached sheet, and all vehicle registrations entered for said date.

On the next day, yesterdays information is irrelevant. I'd be happy if Excel overwrites yesterdays information with today's.

    Is this possible to do?

Please let me know if anything doesn't make sense.

    Thanks in advance.

It would be better to attach a sample Excel workbook, rather than a picture.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post.

Do NOT try to use the Paperclip icon, as this does not work on this forum.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

I actually tried this and it didn't work, it said upload failed which is why I resorted to uploading a screenshot.
