Hello again my friends,
Today I have struggled to find anything online on this subject, I try to avoid wasting peoples time with dumb questions...but yet here I am again.
To summarize, my excel file has two seperate data sets. One data set is inventory storage (depending where inventory is stored, determines where it is allowed to be exported). The other data set is from our sales force, which is a projection of their sales on specific products, or a "forecast".
It is my job to look at what we have in inventory, who is projecting sales, determine how much of our inventory qualifies for that particluar sales person, and enter production plans if demand outweighs supply. Simple enough. However, coming into this position they have provided me zero tools in our content mangament system to assess large amounts of data. So I have turned to pivot tables.
I have everything done, and it functions PERFECT!! The one thing I'm really getting hung up on is this dang slicer. I am using the slicer in my "dashboard" sheet to control the visuals. You can click the product name in the slicer and it will change the graph which shows the breakdown of "forecasts" and it also pulls the inventory & how/where it is stored. I want to add a combobox with active X controls to use as a Search Bar that will control the slicer and manipulate my dashboard instead of scrolling through the slicer looking for the correct product name. I saw the work around of copying the pivot table and hiding everything but the little search box behind the slicer but would much rather use a combobox with active x if at all possible. Someone please haaaaaaalp.
