Question IF formula to display text based on three ranges of values

    Hi everybody,

Thanks in advance reading my question.
I have a problem with a simple IF statement to print a certain message in a cell. The formula is super simple, I have some experience with IF statements, but I can't get it right this time..
Everyday I need to measure a sphere. When the sphere has a certain size the formula needs to print a message. These are the rules: under 800--> keep cell empty; between 800 and 1500--> print "Nameten"; above 1500--> print "Sacrifice".
This is the formula I have now:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

So, it needs to print the "Nameten" in the next cell and "Sacrifice" is the current cell. But currently, when the cell next to the current cell is empy it will automatically print "Sacrifice", which is incorrect.
Sorry if I'm a bit vague, English is not my native tongue.
I can't add a attachement, so i have uploaded a link for google drive:

Could someone have a look at it and help me with a possible solution?

    Best, Coen

Re: Need some help with IF formula

First, the example file does not seem to match your description. In the two examples where you show Nameten, there are no measurements for that day.

Second, the formula you showed in your post looks at values in both column D and E. From your description, I think you just want to look at column D, for a formula in column D.

Third, the formula you showed in your post refers to row 17, but your sample file does not have data in row 17, just the Action.

I have updated your file to show what I think you are describing above, but the results are different than your sample.

Re: Need some help with IF formula

    Hi 6StringJazzer,

Thank you for looking at my question.
I want to print "Nameten" on the next day in the Action row. So when the size on 17/5 is above 800, I want to print "Nameten" in the action row on 18/5.
But when the size on 17/5 is above 1500, i want to print "Sacrifice" in the action row on 17/5. This is the tricky part imo.
And when the size is below 800, nothing is shown in the action row.

Sorry for not being clear. I hope I explained it a bit better this time.

Re: IF formula to display text based on three ranges of values

When you say 17/5 I assume you mean E17. (It's better to use standard Excel notation here.)

If D17 is above 800, then you want Nameten in E18. If E17 if above 1500, you want Sacrifice in E18. This is confusing because you can't have both. Please describe your conditions in more detail.

If I'm understanding correctly, the following formula works in cell F17:
