Speak Cells will NOT speak only one cell if sequential cells have values

When using the Speak Cells command, I noticed that if you only select one cell in a row, Excel assumes you want all the cells in that row to be spoken. If I select two cells or more, it works fine, and speaks only the cells selected, but refuses to work correctly when selecting only one cell.

How can you tell Excel to only speak the one cell that is selected? Is there a hidden setting buried in the Excel Options that I need to change or something else entirely?

I have no issue playing single cell.

Have a read of link and see if you can adjust some settings.

Very Odd! I just tried it again on a different computer though same version of Excel 2016, and it did the same thing. I read the article you linked, and I found this part interesting as it's exactly the issue I'm having. But notice the article says "without selecting any cells and Excel will automatically expand the selection to include the neighboring cells that contain values." Apparently with my version of Excel, selecting one cell does not count as selecting a cell, hence why all the neighboring cells that contain values are also included. Makes no sense to me!

    From your link:
"Tip: You can select a specific range of cells for the computer to read back to you. Or, you can click Speak Cells Button image without selecting any cells and Excel will automatically expand the selection to include the neighboring cells that contain values."
