Importing new data into Pivot Table

    Hi everyone,

I would like to have a pivot table which references a table on another tab which is basically a data dump. However, I must make sure I delete all old data before I paste the new data into the data tab table. When I delete the data, my table deletes as well, and the pivot table won't refresh (Ref isn't valid).

Is there a way to wipe out all the data on my table without deleting my table as well? Or is there a better way to do this?

    Hi

If you use an Excel table (with headers), when you delete the body but maintain the headers the pivot table retain the definition.

Are you highlighting all records then right-clicking and choosing “Delete” from the pop-up menu? If so, you’re deleting your table. Try highlighting your records then hitting the “Delete” button on your keyboard; that should wipe the data without deleting your table.

Damn, something so simple. I realized I was selecting a header and hitting control+a. If you select a cell in the actual data, it doesn't copy the headers. Thanks guys.
