    Power Query Guidance & Training

    Hi Ali,Olly and any Reader

Over the last couple of weeks Ali & Olly has been inspirational in teaching me how to start using " Power Query " .
So to learn how it works I have started to recreate the working file from scratch, I have gotten so far and am
looking for some guidance, I have attached a copy of my Excel program, and Word document of a screen grab
what I have done so far, I have progressed to importing the file off the website and created sliders, I have studied
the Excel manual that I have looking for guidance, however it has little on coding with PQ.
I don't wish to ask for you to complete it again just give me pointers, Please.

    Morning, Peter!

I am moving this thread into the main Excel forum, as it is not an off-topic chat, and therefore not for the Water Cooler.

Can you explain what we are meant to read into the screenshot? What are you trying to show us? I'll have a look at your file when I have moved the thread.

Just one observation: when you close and load the query for the first time, you need to choose a cell lower down the sheet as the origin to leave room for your row of slicers at the top. Don't just click Close & Load - use the little downward-facing arrow to access Close & Load To ..., which gives you more control.

    Good Morning your time,

The screen shot is to just show how far I have gotten so far, I had a change of mind by adding the work file up.

What does "I had a change of mind by adding the work file up" mean?

The other thing you can do to make room for the slicer is to add rows above the table, however I would not bother with the slicers until you have completed the rest of the work on the query.

What is the pivot table on the other tab for?

Would you please be more specific with
" Don't just click Close & Load - use the little downward-facing arrow to access Close & Load To ..., which gives you more control. "

This is a grab off the excel sheet, are you referring to the little down arrows to the right of these names. ???

No, I am referring to the Home ribbon in the Power Query editor.

This online image shows what I mean: https://exceleratorbi.com.au/wp-cont...09/image13.png
