IF formula + Data Validation HOW TO?
Hi everyone,
I want to know how the following scenario could be made.
If cell A1 is "Holiday"
Cell A2 would show "N/A"
If If cell A1 is blank,
Cell A2 would show a drop down list with "Satisfactory", "poor 1", "poor 2"
I have searched for lots of time but couldn't find an answer. Please Help!

You cant find an answer, because there isnt 1.
There is nothing magical about a drop down (Data Validation). It is exactly the same as if you had typed the entry in manually, the only differences being that a DD can save you some typing, help avoid typos and help restrict entry to only a specified "list". Other than that, there is basically no difference. You would refer to it in formulas etc the exact same way as if you were referencing a manually entered cell
With that said, you can either have data (an entry) in a cell OR a formula, you cant have both.

I managed to do it using a helper column with formulas. It's the best you can do without VBA.
