how to match code lists and respective name lists

    Hello there,

I am wondering if anyone could explain me how I can make excel link municipalities to their government codes. I have on one sheet (#1) the list with (Dutch) municipalities and their respective codes, and in another sheet (#2) a list of corporate data and the code of the municipality they are in. Now I wish to also have next to the corporate data and their municipality code the name of the municipality. How do I do this?

Example. In sheet #1 the first 10 corporations are in municipality 0003. From my sheet #2 it is clear 0003 = Appingedam, which I fill in into the box next to the codes. I now wish to have Excel do this for every corporation.

    Kind regards,

    Jan Paul

Regarding your MS Office version - what does it say on the splash screen when you launch Excel? Excel 2013? Excel 2016? 365? This is what we need you to put in your profile, please.
