    Repeat Column Headers

    Hi,

I have 4 columns in a table that need to repeat x number of times.

    If I have:

    CODE
    HRS
    QTY
    UOM

Can a formula for these make it so I can repeat them as many times as needed so the first group would be:

    CODE1
    HRS1
    QTY1
    UOM1

    Next group:

    CODE2
    HRS2
    QTY2
    UOM2

    Thank you for your help

    Re: Repeat Column Headers

    Repeat where? Across more columns?
    So Columns A B C D would be CODE1 HRS1 QTY1 UOM1
    Columns E F G H would be CODE2 HRS2 QTY2 UOM2

    VBA or formula solution?
    Regards

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    If they are in Column A through D then in E use;
Please Login or Register to view this content.
And then drag across, that should do it for you

    Re: Repeat Column Headers

If you select the four headers and drag to the right using the the lower right corner of the selection, it should automatically fill in the series.

If this doesn't work, try holding the right mouse button down while dragging and then choose "Fill Series" from the menu that appears.

    Re: Repeat Column Headers

Thanks PaulSP8 I have them starting in G1 so I put:

=G1&1 in K1 and dragged across.

    I get 0,1,2, etc.

    Re: Repeat Column Headers

    Just put

    CODE1 HRS1 QTY1 UOM1 in G1 H1 I1 J1

    Select G1:H1

Move mouse to bottom right hand corner of the selection until it turns to a black crosshair (not with arrows)
    Then drag right

    K2 will be CODE2
    L2 will be HRS2
    etc

    works for me

    Re: Repeat Column Headers

Your posted file doesnt reflect your description of what you want.
    You said

"Can a formula for these make it so I can repeat them as many times as needed so the first group would be:

    CODE1
    HRS1
    QTY1
    UOM1

    Next group:

    CODE2
    HRS2
    QTY2
    UOM2"

This is not whats in the spreadsheet.
Is the spreadsheet meant to be your expected output?

Follow my post above, if that doesn't work then state clearly what output you expect.

    Re: Repeat Column Headers

Thanks Special-K that worked. I see that the pattern has to be established first.

I appreciate all of the help.

    Re: Repeat Column Headers

The spreadsheet is intended for data entries. I want to avoid using VBA for this workbook because I don't know how to do coding. I can understand formulas better so I am attempting this way for doing Invoicing.
