    Personal xlsb won't stay hidden

everytime I open up excel I get two excel windows, the first on is the workbook that I want an the second is the personal xlsb. but the body of the window is all greyed out so I would have to go and check the unhide button in the View tab to view the personal workbook. the question is how do you keep the second workbook from opening up in the first place.

If I understand correctly, you DO NOT want the personal xlsb to show upon opening excel, correct?

After opening both files, are you able to go the personal xlsb, go to VIEW > HIDE, then exit Excel and select yes when it asks if you want to save?

When you open again, it should only show you the one workbook.

you are correct i do not want the personal xlsb to show upon opening excel. i am able to go to the personal xlsb the problem is it is already hidden. i cannot select the hide button i have to select the unhide button that then shows the personal xlsb. when i open an excel file 2 excel windows open. one is the file i want and the other is the personal xlsb file but it opens as if it is hidden.
