Convert Minutes to Seconds

I want to convert 02:03.45 which is 2minutes 3.45seconds to second. If I copy this cell to a new cell, I format the new cell using custom formatting ie [ss], I will get 123 seconds. What if I want to display 123.45 seconds? How do I display the .45 on the formatted cell?

Try format: [ss].00

If you are after the actual number of seconds as a number, not as a formatted time value, you could also use this formula in the "new cell" to get the seconds, but note that you will probably have to deliberately change the format to General...

=86400*A1

I am curious... why do you want it as text instead of a number? Any special way you want this text presented? The following might change depending on how you answer that second question, but if there is no special display requirements, then this should do it for you...

It is almost always better to keep values as values (and time is a value), that way you can more easily run calcs on the cell contents.
