how to make each identical value be highlighted on separate sheets

This is an excel question but relating to fantasy football. Say for example I have Tom Bradys name on 2 separate sheets. Instead of me manually crossing off/highlighting tom bradys name on both sheets, is there a way in which I can cross off/highlight his name on sheet 1 and have sheet 2 do the same automatically? Basically, anything I do on sheet 1 for it to do the same on sheet 2 automatically for the corresponding cell value.

Paste this into the Sheet Module for Sheet1.

Then, when you double click any name in Col A / Sheet 1 ... it searches Col A / Sheet 2 for same name. If found the cell Sheet 1 is highlighted.

As long as your sheets are identical (and it looks like they are), if you select both sheets (hold the control key while selecting the other sheet), basically anything you do on one sheet also happens on the other (in the same cell). This works if you want to add info to a cell as well (say you want to add a column for another person on both sheets, select both sheets and type in the name and the numbers down the column and it will update both sheets. Don't forget to just select one sheet if you want to just update one sheet.

Thanks Greg, I see your tricked worked but actually when I do this for the draft, each sheet will NOT be identical. For my sample I kept it the same, I guess I wasnt thinking. So yes your trick works but it will not work when I have two different lists (even though they are the same players, their rankings will not be the same.

I added the vba code in the proper place for you & needed to edit your sheet name, it had a space in it and this caused an error. more than 1 way to do this. hope it helps

added ability to toggle your selection on sheet 1, now double click highlights another double click un-highlights, and you can rename your tabs to whatever you want. Thank you Logit for the initial code.
