Copy and paste cell reference issue

When copying rows c2 - c20 and pasting in in row c29, im looking for the pasted results to be (a5), (a6) and (a7). Not (a29), (a30) and a(31). If anyone could help you would save me a ton of work.

Copy C20 to C21; then insert 8 rows. Repeat.

Re: Copy and paste cell reference issue

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, that won't work for me. I used that as an example without realizing that the solutions presented might not work. I'll have cells sandwiched above and below those cells. I was hoping for a formula of some kind that would account for the extra rows.

Without seeing more of what's in your file, it's difficult to know what might or might not work. However, you could try the formula below in C2, copied to C11, then C20. You can then copy C2:C20 and paste into C29.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.

Thanks for the rep. Since your comment with it is 'That worked thank you' (you're welcome, btw), I assume you're happy that your question has been answered, so please take a moment to mark the thread as Solved so others know there's an answer here (instructions are in my sig). Thanks.
