    Data Validation

    Hi..

I am looking for some help if at all possible

I want to do some data validation based on a cell's current value.

Basically if the cell states "Available" it can be edited, if it doesn't state "Available".. it can't.

It seems that data validation doesn't like cells referencing themselves.

Is there any other way this is possible?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Think you would need VBA to do that. Selection change event handler to store the current value in a global variable and a Change event handler to check it and allow or disallow changes.
