Assign a value to the response of 5 questions and then tally

    Hi,

I hope this doesn't come across too confusing, as i know what i am trying to do but i don't know how to describe it properly.

I have a spreadsheet where there are 5 questions which i want to assign a value to the response to the question then get a tally to add it up at the end and apply a color to the number based on where it finishes.

Some of the questions have a yes/no answer, some of the questions have up to 5 answers. I want to add a value to those answers, for example a yes will have a value of 20 and a no a value of 0.

Here is an example of what i am trying to do.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Please upload a workbook or a representative cut down copy, anonymised if necessary. It is always easier to advise if we can see your request in its context.

Show a before and after situation with manually calculated results, explaining which information is data and which is results, and if it's not blindingly obvious how you have arrived at your results some explanatory notes as well. It's not at all clear to me at the moment how yuo have calculated the Adoption scores.

To upload a file click the Go Advanced button at the foot of your post, look underneath the post area for the Manage Attachments section and take it from there.

There are many more combinations of answers than you show, so your scoring system is not complete. For example, you could have a Yes answer with the answers that you show on row 3, but you could also have the same first 4 answers but with Cost, Revenue, or All the above as the 5th answer. Your table needs to be expanded to cover all possibilities, with appropriate scores for each combination of answers. Then you could use a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH to get the appropriate score for a given set of answers.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
