    Mirror excel

Is there a way that I can mirror an excel workbook into another workbook? All the things that I've done in workbook1 will be updated in workbook2? This will includes excel formulas, VBA codes, macros, formatting, deleting/adding of data, etc.

    Re: Mirror excel

Why 2 workbooks that are the same?

    first:
    Save workbook1 as workbook1

    then:
    Save workbook1 as workbook2

If you need to see both side by side as you work...

View ribbon tool -> New Window

It will replicate workbook in two separate window (single instance). So when you save it will be just one workbook, to save a copy just follow direction from Willem.

    Re: Mirror excel

I need to make the workbook1 as the master file or backend file and the workbook2 is the file that the users will use as the frontend file. So anytime that I make changes in the workbook1 will automatically change/update in workbook2.

    Re: Mirror excel

Then you need to think of ways to link the two.

    1. Via some query/connection. Set to refresh at interval.

    2. Linked formula.

    Etc.

However, set up will depend on how you are using the data. And if link direction is one way or not.
In general, it is recommended that you use proper relational database for this sort of application (ex: MS Access, SQL Express etc) as back end. MS Access can serve as front-end or you can use Excel. As Excel isn't designed for data integrity and can have multiple issue in this type of set up.
