    Index question ?

    Hello

    I am trying to get the difference of two cell values in the same row, but I want to make it kinda dynamic. This is my example:

    I want to subtract cell M8 from a cell which is 5 columns behind, i.e. as M8-H8. My goal is to subtract M8 from other cells that are 6, or 7 or n cells behind. I need to store the value of those separations, i.e. 5 in a cell and change that cell value to 6 or 7 if needed.

    In summary:

    Stored cell value: 5 ==> M8-H8

    If I change stored cell value: 6 ==> M8-G8

    If I change stored cell value: 7 ==> M8-F8

    How do you specify a cell relative to another cell (not its value)? I know that we can get the column number of a cell, for example column of M8 is 13, but can you use that column number subtract 5 out of it (8) and then find the cell associated with that column number (8)?

    Thank you.
